      My wife and I have been working with Jason for years and we truly cannot say enough good things about him. He has everything you want in a trainer: professionalism; unparalleled expertise on all things health and wellness related; and a kind, friendly approach that will appeal to anyone. He knows just how hard to push you so you are always advancing, but not so much that you risk injuries, or become too intimidated to continue. He is open-minded, creative, and collaborative.

      For people who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant, know that he helped train my wife throughout her pregnancy and afterwards. Without a doubt, he is the reason that my wife was able to follow her own birth plan-the doctor was skeptical that she would be able to deliver without a C-section given the size of our baby and because she had spent 2 days in labor before beginning to push. But Jason had helped prepare her-both her core and her stamina-and she was able to deliver our kid safely in under 2 hours. The doctor called her the 'best pusher' she's ever seen-and that is because of Jason.

      In other words, he is perfect. Jason is also just a funny, smart, and interesting guy to be around-we have enjoyed not just working with him, but becoming his friend. We trust him with our life, and you will, too.

      I've been training with Jason Agrella since Sept 2022 and he is the absolute best.

      In the past 1.5 years, I've seen huge strides in my strength (including doubling my deadlift PR) and mobility, but perhaps what I appreciate most is the knowledge that I've gained since working with Jason. It has completely changed the way I train for the better!

      Working with Jason has really levelled up my understanding of how to train for functional performance, strength and mobility that will serve me in the long-run - how to move better, breathwork and recovery, integrating mobility, and the mind & body connection.

      I'm sure anyone who has trained with Jason will know that he is always learning, experimenting, and exploring new methods in his own training, and he will often share new insights and techniques with his clients. He draws a lot from his own practice and reflection, and I think that's why he has a really good grasp of how certain movement patterns work with your body, and where the gaps are.

      Not to mention I don't know what I would've done without his guidance when I strained my hip through running. He prescribed several drills that not only resolved the pain very quickly, but I've now come out of it with better body mechanics and alignment.

      I'm really grateful to have found Jason and I would highly recommend him!

      I waited a bit to write this review and, by a bit, two years.

      I hated working out. I would rather be reading books than have anything to do with workouts.

      My 30s were miserable. I used to get injured easily, and I had a back injury that made it difficult to work out. I had gastrointestinal issues that my doctors couldn't fix and advised me to live with them.

      Somewhere in my forties, I decided to get serious about my health. At only one point in my life, I made it past a couple of months of workouts, and that was with Jordan.

      I called him up and asked if he could help me.

      That was two years ago. This June, I complete two years of workouts with him. Without injuries! Gastro issues are gone based on dietary recommendations from him!

      I bounced back quickly from Covid and a few personal setbacks without health issues. I have more energy, strength than in my 30s. I remember telling my parents I felt like I was in my early twenties. The advice from my family is to keep going with Jordan!

      He is well-read. I like the insights about health issues. The banter in geopolitical matters is fun. He is empathetic. He brings humor to the table.

      What's not to like? In fact, I love Jordan!

      The Short Review:

      Emily is a kind, personal, and compassionate trainer. I've been with her over 1.5 years. Even now, my friends, and family KEEP remarking on my changes (after losing 50 pounds, 20 with Emily) because they can see the progress I've made in my life: both physical and mental. Most importantly, I am so much happier and Emily, helped me find that.

      She has aided me in:
      -Nutrition
      -Fitness
      -Stress Relief
      -Pain Reduction
      -Support & Accountability
      -Finding extra apps, meal services, book recommendations, etc
      . . . and any and ALL kinds of questions!!!

      *The small gym she trains in is great. It's only ever just her and her husband, which makes the training that much more personal.

      The Longer Version:

      A few years ago I put on about forty pounds, until at one point I knew I just had to do something about it. I did the whole cleansing thing, popular diet thing, nicer gym thing, but while they all helped me make small changes (and shed 30 pounds), I finally hit a plateau. At that point I wanted to find a trainer who was also a nutritionist and it was incredibly difficult to find someone who did both!!! Luckily, I found Emily here on Yelp! and she proved to be just what I was looking for.

      She really filled in the holes with my diet. While I had been eating many good things, I wasn't making my metabolism work for me. And honestly, I just wasn't eating enough! There was so much more to it, but Emily was able to help guide me in several ways: balanced meals, meal prep, a food service, etc Not only that, but she helped me transfer over to a Paleo diet and a more organic/ holistic household. This wasn't a quick transition, nor did she push it on me. However, she was there to answer any of my 100+ questions about it! *With a smile

      Finally, she's an awesome trainer. I've always worked out and enjoyed lifting weights, but Emily really goes at my pace. I suffer from fatigue and on days when I simply don't have the energy, she knows not to push me. On the other hand, on days I can do harder workouts, I can leave the gym feeling pretty proud of myself. She also incorporates a lot of different exercises like yoga, and things I've wanted to try, like barre and kettle bell. I imagine it's different based on her different clients needs though. After quite a bit of time with her now, I feel more confident in my abilities and this translates to my day to day life, which is what my family and friends remark on (not just my physical changes).

      Now I have a better balance in my nutrition and a stronger body. I've lost 50 pounds overall and I'm working towards longer term goals (and just feeling great). If you are looking for a trainer who is friendly, personal, and knowledgeable, then I couldn't recommend Emily more. *Please feel free to email me with questions*

      I contacted Jordan after dealing with one injury or another for almost two years. I felt like as soon as one thing healed, something new would crop up. I'd been to a traditional physical therapist each time, but clearly it wasn't working. A friend recommended Jordan telling me, "he'll make you do some crazy sh*t, but just do it--it works."

      My experience since then has been completely transformative. I'm not only exercising pain free, but I'm a vastly more functional athlete. The neurological and mobility drills Jordan has taught me are starting to completely change the way I exercise, and I'm excited to continue working with him to reach new fitness goals. I'd encourage anyone who is finding that traditional personal training or therapy methods aren't clicking to invest in training at Average to Elite. You'll have to step out of your comfort zone, but you certainly won't want to go back.

      Jordan is a guru who cured my right shoulder injury that no other chiropractor, physical therapist, and sports medicine doctor have achieved. I suffered this injury for two years, went through numerous physical rehabilitation, and the pain never fully subsided.

      I was referred to Jordan by a friend and heard amazing things. On the first day, Jordan asked me to raise my right and left shoulder. My left shoulder could be fully raised straight and my right shoulder could only go up halfway. Jordan immediately identified the problem, and after a few unorthodox movements, we did a retest of the shoulder mobility. Miraculously, I rose my right shoulder completely, almost matching that of my left shoulder without pain. I was in such shock and was left speechless after the first session on how well I could move my shoulder. I haven't been able to raise it completely for years and in just less than an hour, I could do it.

      After a few months of sessions with Jordan, my shoulder has completely recovered fully. For anyone with any physical trauma, I highly recommend Jordan to oversee any of your injuries.

      I came in with some notion of getring into a healthier lifestyle and Emily did a dantastic job of fine tuning the process! Having so much information to wander through by myself i had an impossible task of discerning what would be applicable for me (as well as...just...wrong info ). She walked me through each step brilliantly to the point where i felt so much more confident moving forward. So many little tips, details, debunking false notions are just some of the pros of her profession.

      Oh and she also does fitness / agility!

      Back at the beginning of the year I took stock of where my body was heading and I didn't like it. I had been gaining almost 10 pounds every decade since college. I was not fitting comfortably into my clothes and I didn't want to move up yet another size. On top of that my doctor told me I was officially in the "overweight" category. I decided it was time to stop talking about getting in shape and just do it. I started personal training with Jordan Vezina, Emily's partner at Average to Elite (who I also highly recommend). During our training sessions Jordan would talk about the benefit of eating a nutritionally balanced diet to complement the exercise regimen and maximize "aesthetic improvement". Though I conceptually knew what I needed to do I didn't know how to incorporate it into a busy lifestyle with a full-time job and family, so Jordan suggested working with Emily.

      Emily and I started with an in person intake. She assessed my general health, current eating habits, goals, needs, etc. She then gave me some initial action items to work on and we scheduled a follow up by phone a week or two later. She emphasized that I could contact her anytime with questions. At our phone check in we discussed progress, she answered all my questions, made recommendations for different products and services and we updated goals. What I have found most helpful have been quick-prep meal and snack ideas and recipes. I have enjoyed our regular phone check-in conversations. Emily is easy to talk to and very helpful.

      I have been working with Jordan now for almost 8 months and Emily for about 4. In that time I've lost 12-15 pounds (depending on the day) and went down 2 sizes. Though I considered myself a relatively informed shopper and healthy eater, the changes that I implemented made all the difference. When people see me putting together my lunch in the office they say, "oh, you're being so good" as if I were on a diet and depriving myself. In reality, I am really enjoying what I eat and when I get off track (for example I'm traveling and food selection is out of my control) I look forward to "returning to normal." I would highly recommend Emily to anyone who is trying to make a change to their eating habits that is healthy, sustainable, and satisfying.

      Jordan will fix any problem you have in your life. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it is not far from the truth. I first went to see Jordan when I was having hip issues. After over a year of pain, I had exhausted the Stanford medical system yet still was in pain even when laying down. Within a few sessions, Jordan had me walking without pain. After maybe 6 or 7 sessions, I was running, jumping, and lifting pain free. It was truly miraculous. I refer everyone I know to Jordan, and I have yet to hear of someone he hasn't helped immensely.

      As arrogant as this sounds, I do think it's worth saying for others who may be skeptical of the business name: you don't have to be an 'average' athlete for Jordan to massively improve your performance. I saw Jordan as an internationally competitive runner, and he was able to provide solutions I didn't have access to even though I was already at the 'elite' level.

      As compared to other trainers/coaches/doctors/shamans, Jordan is exceptional in his knowledge and application of neurobiology, his sense of humor, and just his overall aura...you'll have to go to see what I mean.
